The remaining members of a missionary group were finally freed on Thursday, roughly two months after being abducted by a gang in Haiti.
"We glorify God for answered prayer — the remaining 12 hostages are FREE!" Christian Aid Ministries said in a statement. "Join us in praising God that all 17 of our loved ones are now safe."
The group consisted of 16 U.S. citizens and one Canadian, including five children -- one of them just eight months old.
The group and their Haitian driver were abducted on Oct. 16 by the 400 Mawozo gang. Authorities said the gang was demanding $1 million per person.
The Associated Press reports the police "did not immediately provide additional details" and that the missionary group "hopes to provide more information later."
