Oh look, gun violence is now a "public health crisis" according to US Surgeon General Vivek Murthy.
U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy formally declared gun violence a public health crisis on Tuesday.
He also called for a ban on assault weapons and civilian use of large-capacity magazines …
Medical organizations publicly supported his declaration in the press release, including the American Medical Association, American Academy of Pediatrics, American Public Health Association, American College of Surgeons, and the YWCA.
Boy, if we only had another public health crisis in the recent past that would give us an idea of what it looks like when the government declares a public health emergency …
Oh look, here's the surgeon general now.
And some of those graphics he showed.
"Firearms are the leading cause of death for children and adolescents."
Yeah, I think you missed one very important killer there, Mr. Murthy. And until you guys stop pretending it's okay to kill children in the womb, it's gonna be hard to take you seriously when you try to use the death of children to push gun confiscation.
Speaking of gun confiscation, here are some of the suggestions from the surgeon general as to how to fix this new "public health crisis."
Yeah dude, we can see right through this.
Go ahead and try to guilt us again into complying with your public health advice.
We're not biting.
Here's the NRA's response and, generally, the response from law-abiding gun owners nationwide:
