J.K. Rowling is letting it be known in no uncertain terms that she will not be scared into bowing to the rainbow mafia.
The Labour Party in the UK has recently proposed an insane law that would make calling someone by the wrong pronouns (aka the correct pronouns) a hate crime punishable by up to two years in prison.
Yes, seriously.
But the Harry Potter author and outspoken women's rights activist isn't afraid.
First, Rowling posted this on X (formerly Twitter):
Then, when reminded of the proposed two-year prison sentence for speaking the truth, here's how Rowling responded:
I'll happily do two years if the alternative is compelled speech and forced denial of the reality and importance of sex.
This is the exact response all sane people need to give to these outrageous ideas.
We can't just give in to compelled speech. They can't make us lie and deny reality.
Can you imagine- seriously, try to imagine- J.K. Rowling being chucked into a London prison because she called Bruce Jenner a man?
Everyone needs to be willing to stand up against the rainbow brigade, just like Rowling!
They can't throw us all into prison!
Not until they build the gulags, at least...
