This is a real thing that happened. The Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation on Tuesday apologized to the TGD2S community for a Harry Potter-themed event they will hold in November.
What is a TGD2S? I had to look it up. It means transgender, gender diverse, and two-spirited people.

Yes, for hosting a Harry Potter event this coming November, the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation is actually apologizing. Because author J.K. Rowling holds normal views on the transgender movement.
Try not to laugh as you watch this:
During the meeting, the trans activists who were invited to speak labeled Rowling a 'holocaust denier' who used her royalties from the Harry Potter franchise to fund 'global anti-trans campaigns.' The activists also threatened protests if the event, titled Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience, was allowed to proceed as planned.
@ParkBoard unanimously passed the motion, which 'publicly disavows JK Rowling's political activity and recognizes the harm that it causes globally.'
They're still holding the event. They just want the TGD2S community to know ...

J.K. Rowling had thoughts:
🤣🤣🤣
Here's a real excerpt from the above article:
Members of the city's transgender, gender diverse and Two Spirit communities had expressed concerns about the decision to partner with the event this holiday season due to its association with J.K. Rowling, author of the seven Harry Potter novels.
Some spoke at Tuesday's meeting, include Rob Hadley, a member of Vancouver's 2SLGBTQ+ advisory committee — and someone who previously read the books to their own children.
'This has been a difficult thing for a lot of us,' Hadley told CTV News. 'The fact is, we don't want to stand in the way of kids having a fantastic Christmas experience. The issue lies in the question of revenues going to someone who is a transphobe.'

And because I want to continue to laugh, here's another excerpt from a CBC article on the same topic:
Digby's motion is called Affirming the Park Board's Commitment to Transgendered Lives and Rights.
It says that the Vancouver Park Board 'unequivocally supports the lives and rights of TGD2S people,' and recognizes that 'transphobia sets a precedent to the reduction in human rights that affects all of us.'
The motion also 'disavows JK Rowling's political activity and recognizes the harm that it causes globally,' and ensures the installation only runs for this season.
It's 2025, and people are still out here using the term "transphobe" to describe people who believe in literal human biology.
Oh, Canada!
