Voters are divided on how much money to send to foreign countries, but guess what they DO agree on

In a time of great national divide, it's so good to see some unity between Americans like this:

American voters across party lines support more funding to bolster security at the southern border, while support for foreign countries embroiled in conflicts exposes stark partisan divides, according to the latest NBC News national poll.

The survey finds roughly 3 in 4 registered voters — 74% — support more funding for security along the U.S. border with Mexico, including 93% of Republicans, 74% of independents and 58% of Democrats.

Live feed of Mar-a-Lago right now:

Is it that surprising? It seems like only super-elite Democrats and hard-left Marxists are the only ones who are really committed to a security-free, wide-open, nationally dangerous border.

The rest of us — even the majority of Democrats! — are, you know, pretty normal on this question. It's not rocket science.

The sheer lopsided returns here are even starker when weighed against sending money to foreign conflicts:

Border funding is far-and-away the winner here.

Most support for foreign aid breaks down along pretty predictable party lines, although in one instance a bipartisan return was somewhat surprising:

The survey does find bipartisan support for more funding and military aid to Taiwan as it faces the potential threat of a Chinese invasion, with slim majorities of Republicans, Democrats and independents backing more aid.

Overall, though, the responses are clear: People want the wall built. So why aren't we building it?
