Well, I think we can safely say this story is going to keep getting weirder.
Information about the man who allegedly gunned down Democratic state senators last week has been sketchy in the days that followed, but one of the more bizarre stories surfaced late Friday, as news circulated that shooter Vance Boelter had written a letter to the FBI claiming that Governor Tim Walz had asked him to murder US Senator Amy Klobuchar so that Walz could run for her Senate seat.
Um … yeah.
Yes, there are certainly indications that Boelter is completely nuts, and it seems unlikely that Walz would have just up and asked a guy to knock off a senator so he could have her spot. But … it is an attention-grabber to say the least.
It didn't take long for calls to start following in for an official investigation into Walz and any connection, if any, he had with Boelter.
It might be time for someone to take a look at ol' Timmy Walz.
