It can be tough to remember the new rules regarding women, pregnancy and abortion. The Texas abortion ban, for instance, has been declared an all-out assault on women's rights, but many activists have been quick to argue that since men can get pregnant too, the Texas ban actually perpetuates a far more inclusive, big-tent kind of oppression.

New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently appeared to struggle with those distinctions during a live interview on-air, referring variously to "women," "people who menstruate" and "people who give birth" while discussing the abortion ban.
