Watch: Father put in Handcuffs and Detained in Georgia for Son's Mask Violation

Costco is taking their mask policy VERY seriously.

An 18-year-old in Georgia, Adam Wayland, was shopping at Costco with his father and was reportedly asked by employees at Costco to keep his mask on while in the store. After arguing with the employees at Costco, the managers there called the police on the father and son to arrest them for not complying with the Costco mask policy.

You can watch the videos that the son, Adam, posted on TikTok explaining his side of the story and showing the arrival of the cops to arrest his father because his son did not follow the mask policy.

In the video, Adam claims he pulled his mask down for a short period of time to breathe more freely and was asked by the manager to leave the store. Adam then claims he handed his credit card to his dad, Cory, to pay for their items and the manager told the police he gave his dad a knife.

Police then arrive and put the father in handcuffs and take him out of the store and put him in the back of the police car. The police also claim that the father was resisting police, while he is clearly just standing still, because "he was tensing his arms."

The irony, of course, is that the police are in the store WITHOUT MASKS arresting a man WHO IS WEARING A MASK because his son took his mask off.

I understand that Costco is a private company, and they can have as strict mask rules in their stores as they like. Rules so strict that even those with medical reasons to not wear masks must still wear a face shield while in the store. But I am just not so sure that it is a great idea to use social pressure, store policies, and police force to pressure customers into following your mandates and then having them arrested. Not a great look for a business and a terrible tragedy for society.

According to the local news report, "The father was charged with disorderly conduct and both were given a warning about trespassing at Costco and are now barred from shopping there."

So there you have it, the Covid craziness continues. It won't be long before these American companies will follow the examples of Qantas and other companies and require vaccines to shop.

And the frightening part is that this form of "soft-totalitarianism", as Rod Dreher calls it, isn't just coming from the government, though they are happy to enforce it, it is coming from private businesses and organizations that want to control your life.

It's a Brave New World.
