The car had front-wheel drive, so the suspect still tried to get away. But there was no chance of that!
The tool shoots an elaborate net out of the front of the car which attaches to a car's rear axle, forcing the car to stop.
And it looks like something out of a Batman movie!

LVMPD officers were able to take Vincent Farmer into custody after police said he pushed his ex-girlfriend from the vehicle and carjacked her. Farmer has an active warrant for attempted murder out of Nye County, police said.
