Check out this crazy footage of an Alaskan moose shedding his antlers in this lucky guy's backyard

Just an amazing sequence here. Imagine being this guy!

Here's how the process works, by the way:

Shedding usually happens in early December as cells, called osteoclasts, break down the bone cells that attach the animal's antlers to the skull. ...

The moose sheds its antlers in the winter to free up to 60 pounds of weight, allowing them to conserve more energy for the cold season.

By springtime, antler bone starts to grow again and as males age, their antlers grow bigger every year.

You gotta admit, the old boy does have that sort of "I just dropped 60 pounds of weight from the top of my head" spring in his step!
