One night at 9 p.m. along Santa Monica Boulevard, three thieves approached two men who were walking and demanded their money. One of them was armed with an aSsAuLt riFLe, which is funny, because such weapons are outlawed on the streets of California.

Someone needs to explain to this fine criminal that there's a gun ban in place!

The unarmed "ambassador" program was boosted last year when West Hollywood fired four armed sheriff's deputies in an effort to defund their police department, allowing them to enlarge the unarmed patrol force.

[West Hollywood Mayor Sepi] Shyne said the city's Security Ambassador program is comprised of 85 ambassadors on residential streets and in commercial corridors to deter crime.

"It's worked, because crime has gone down," the mayor said. "Priority for us is safety and we are safer than we have been in the past."

Yeah, it definitely looks like it's working!

Assaults, destruction of property on the streets, robberies with rifles on the streets...

Citizens of West Hollywood can rest easy knowing that Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber are watching the streets!
