Okay, this is awesome.

An Oklahoma family's Havanese (that's a small dog) was out for a quick #1 in late November when all of a sudden two yotes came along looking for some dinner. Oakley's big dog siblings were preoccupied — exchanging butt sniffs or what have you somewhere else in the yard — but her feline sister Binx was on the scene to protect her.

By the way, Binx was formerly a neighborhood cat; the Dyer family took her in when she was two months old.

After the attack, Oakley was rushed to the hospital by mom and dad and was treated for her injuries. Though doctors warned she might lose her leg, they ended up getting the job done in such a fashion that Oakley was able to keep it, which is just great news.

Now, as you noticed if you made it to the end of that video above, Oakley is back and better than ever, and her stitches have healed.

Hats off to Binx, who is a national hero, and just might give dog lovers a reason to also love cats (though I wouldn't count on it).
