It seems San Fran area looters have moved from petty larceny at Walgreens to grand theft auto in broad daylight:

A pair of friends from out of state were at the Bay Street mall north of Oakland to return a pair of pants when the attackers came out of nowhere and grabbed their purses and keys.
"They were kicking me and punching me," said the woman seen in the video, who can be heard screaming repeatedly at the assailants."Two men just ran out and went towards me. It felt so fast like I just closed my eyes and opened it and the car was gone, everything was gone," she told ABC7.
It's a good thing California has empowered criminals and made self-defense weapons near impossible for law-abiding citizens to own, otherwise this woman and her friend might have been able to level the playing field.
Gotta love how the weenies in the car just sat there and watched this woman get wailed on instead of yelling at the thugs or ramming them with their 3,000-pound car.
This isn't the first time this has happened recently. The mall has seen a string of thefts, both in stores and in the garage:
Emeryville police provided ABC7 News information about recent incidents through their crime statistics reports. Since May there have been at least three robbery and carjacking victims in the Bay Street parking garage. There were also a number of armed thefts at the various stores like Victoria's Secret, Uniqlo and Lenscrafters.
