We tried "Pilk." Here's our honest review.

My brother and fellow NTB writer Harris Rigby is in town for the holidays, so of course I had to make him taste test something weird while he's staying at my house.

We decided to try the viral "Pilk" drink, which apparently originated on the '70s show Laverne & Shirley, and has again become popular after Pepsi ran an ad promoting "Pilk and Cookies."

My initial response was not as violent as Wolfgang's reaction, since I did actually venture to taste it.

It was... interesting.

We played around with different ratios of milk-to-Pepsi and found that Pepsi is just not very good no matter how much milk you add.

But if you go the extra mile and add vanilla syrup and heavy cream, it's not half bad.

And the beautiful layer of foam was very aesthetically pleasing.

Ultimately, since Pepsi is just an inferior Coke, we decided to try the same beverage but with Coca-Cola.

Unsurprisingly it was much better.

To quote Harris Rigby,

I like the Coke coke better than the Pepsi coke.

[Editor's note: Weird southerners call every carbonated beverage "coke" when it is very clearly "pop."]

The Coke and milk-only beverage was ok, but the more Coke we added, the better it tasted – which reminded us that Coke is just inherently good (and the milk was really just watering it down).

So we added the vanilla syrup and cream to the Coke mixture, and it was actually delicious.

In Harris's words,

I think the Coke mixture was genuinely good, but it tasted like the end of a Coke float.

So in conclusion, if you like Coke floats, maybe just splurge for the ice cream, and if you don't like Coke floats, you should probably pass on this beverage.

And if you like Pepsi... well, you're just wrong.
