What exactly do you tell the insurance company when a giraffe falls on your car?

Kari Hill was taking her family through Fossil Rim, one of those drive-thru safaris that are so popular in Texas, when a friendly giraffe came over to get some food pellets from them.

The giraffe stuck its head right into their sun roof.

Just look how delighted the family was.

Then... things went bad.

The giraffe lost its footing and fell onto the hood of the car.

"[The windshield] started caving in while he was flailing, trying to get his footing back," Hill said. "We were covered in glass, and I thought it was about to turn very bad, but then the giraffe regained his footing and took off.

"We pulled off and I made sure the kids got all the glass off of them and put everyone in the backseat while I called the park's emergency hotline to escort us out of there," she said. "My car had to be towed, and I had to file and insurance claim."

Imagine that phone call.

How exactly do you tell the insurance company that you're filing a claim because a giraffe fell on your car??

I mean, I'm sure they've heard a few tall tales, but a giraffe falling on a car? That seems like a stretch.
