CBS News, during a literal war, with shooting and bombs and all sorts of heroics, decides they need to highlight the REAL battle happening in Ukraine:
The battle for transgender rights.
No, I'm not kidding.
This piece is about a transgender "woman" in Kyiv (AKA a man in a wig), who is battling for "acceptance" as a man pretending to be a woman.
This is not a very rainbow friendly place. So, lives for trans people are very bleak here.
If you have male gender in your passport they will not let you go abroad. They will not let you through.
A war within a war. Truly, truly.

Of course, the real "heartbreaking" part of the story that's supposed to pull on your heartstrings is that it says "male" on his passport, so they won't let this dude flee the country.
Ukraine has stopped any male between 18-60 from leaving because they need men to fight. And this one man who thinks he's a woman believes he should get a ticket out of the fight.
Reminds me of someone else...
Seriously, is this what we now have to be concerned with in Ukraine, whether transgender people are able to get government documents changed to where their imagined gender matches their passport?

Absolutely unbelievable.
It was hell living as a trans person in Kyiv, in Ukraine. We feel invisible. Truly, like we're not people, like we're not human. It's truly how we feel.
Umm, I hate to be heartless here, but...
I care that he's in a dangerous situation. I hope he survives and I hope that he gets the help he obviously needs.
But I do not care about transgender rights in Ukraine while Russia is actively trying to invade and topple the country.
It is the height of narcissism for this man to think that we should care about his personal plight when he is trying to be the exception to the rule that men aren't allowed to leave, just because he thinks he's a woman.
Our American media promoting this gender nonsense as a tragic war story is so ridiculous, but not at all shocking.
