Elon Musk has been releasing the internal communications from Twitter about censoring news in order to affect the outcomes of elections. One of those stories in 2020 regarded an abandoned laptop that belonged to Joe Biden's son Hunter, which implicated Hunter in several multi-million dollar international schemes with foreign powers and at least alluded to Joe Biden's involvement in some of them.
Until now, Joe Biden has denied the existence of the laptop altogether.
However, the White House's stance regarding Hunter's laptop took a decidedly different turn after Elon Musk exposed the Twitter communications.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre announced that the story was "old news" and "a distraction."
Yes, that's right. The White House's new position on the laptop implicating the president's son and possibly the president himself in multiple financial schemes with foreign powers, most notably Ukraine, who the president has sent tens of billions of dollars of aid to over the past two years, is that the laptop is old news.
Instead, the White House would like to focus on shutting down hate speech on Twitter. Jean-Pierre said that the damning information dump implicating Democrats using censorship to influence the election was just
"An interesting or a coincidence, if I may, that he would so haphazardly — Twitter would so haphazardly push this distraction," she said, pointing to the "rising volume of anger, hate, and antisemitism on their platform."
The White House later announced that the second gentleman Doug Emhoff would be leading a round table about combating antisemitism after Kanye West's series of antisemitic remarks got him booted from Twitter.
