Why is the internet obsessed with this cat that got adopted by a family of capybaras at a Malaysian zoo?

I've seen the cute videos of cats that make friends with rodents, but this is ridiculous.

Cats are supposed to eat rodents, but this cat named Oyen was adopted by a pack of capybaras, the world's largest rodent, in the Zoo Negara in Ampang, Malaysia.

The cat has become such a fixture in the exhibit that they've added his name to the sign.

People come from all over the world to see the cat.

Not the capybaras, the stray cat.

Now, I know what you're thinking.

ROUSes (Rodents of Unusual Size) are the stuff of fairy tales and fire swamps.

But capybaras are the real deal, and they're worth going to see all on their own.

(You can see a stray cat anytime.)

But capybaras, they're unique, and so friendly, they're like the Doctor Dolittles of the animal world.

Check all the animal friends they've made.

Ducks and turtles.

Hawks.

Storks.

Giraffes.

Monkeys.

Bunnies.

Baby donkeys.

Crocodiles.

But then there's more cats.

No wait!!!

That last one was a jaguar, and they're the kind of cats that eat capybaras.

Run Capy, run!!!

Well, I'm sure he'll be fine.

Enjoy your day, all!
