Wisconsin governor celebrates his veto of bill that would have banned men from women's sports

This has gotta be one of the weirdest things ever. I don't think I've ever seen a "Veto Ceremony" before.

But Wisconsin's Governor Tony Evers gathered supporters and the press to make a big deal out of vetoing a bill to affirm biology and to keep women safe from men in sporting events.

When you veto something you don't hate it, you don't do anything, you just put "not approved" on the line...

And we have now helped our kids, our trans kids, thanks everybody.

Yes, Evers has helped our high school kids by allowing high school boys to compete against high school girls putting their lives and health in jeopardy.

What a grand gesture!

Boys are allowed to get naked in locker rooms with girls now! Trans kids are totally protected!

The bill proposed to limit high school athletes to playing on teams that match the gender they were assigned at birth.

Republicans who backed the bill argued it was a matter of fairness for non-transgender athletes. But bill opponents argued there was no real issue with transgender high school athletes in Wisconsin and said the proposed ban was a form of discrimination and harmful to transgender youth.

So Evers vetoed it, Republicans don't have the votes to override the veto, and there's not a single Democrat with the dignity to protect women and girls.

You're turning into a class act, Wisconsin.
