Women are starting to take their sports back. Here are two examples from this week.

I usually don't promote quitting, but when a female is matched up in sport against a trans-identifying male opponent, well, I'm all for it. And that's exactly what happened in Wales over the weekend at the English Pool Association's 2023 Champion of Champions.

Female pool player Lynne Finches walked away from the game after realizing the woman she was facing was clearly a man.

I know it's just a small pool tournament, but for these women, it's their passion. Forcing them to compete in unfair circumstances is straight-up wrong.

A few days later, Canadian female boxer Dr. Katia Bissonnette did the same. She withdrew from a championship fight, forfeiting rather than facing a man posing as a woman.

The Quebec Boxing Federation was reportedly aware of Walmsley's biological sex, but justified the fight by stating they had chosen an appropriate referee for the match. Ultimately, Bissonnette says her decision to withdraw came down to safety.

"According to a study, a male blow has 163% more impact than a women's, even adjusted for weight," she says, referring to a 2020 study on strength published by researchers at the University of Utah. "In the group studied, the weakest man remains physically superior to the strongest woman."

It's no exaggeration to say that this man could easily kill her.

But the organizers of the event didn't care. They were ready to trot out any woman this dude could beat up in the ring.

Ladies, this is the only way to defeat the monster that is attempting to take over your sport: Peaceful protest and refusal to participate when a male steps into the competition.

Let Lynne Pinches and Katia Bissonnette be an example to all you female athletes out there.
