There's gonna be a sequel about Nick Cage getting his face stolen a second time, and he's gonna switch faces with his kid and John Travolta's kid too ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Why?

WHY???

Yes, there's going to be a Face/Off sequel because nothing is sacred and art is dead.

If you're not aware of the classic 1997 cult film, Nick Cage plays a crazy criminal named Castor Troy who kills the son of FBI Agent Sean Archer โ€“ played by John Travolta โ€“ and then plants a bomb that's gonna blow up a chunk of Los Angeles.

To stop the bomb, FBI-agent John Travolta undergoes an experimental skin graft surgery that replaces his face with Nick Cage's captured mug so that he can infiltrate the gang and locate the weapon.

When Nick Cage wakes up and finds out someone removed his face, he forces the doctor to sew John Travolta's face to his own and then sets out to take over Travolta's life as an agent.

Of course, the original insane plot wasn't insane enough, so now Hollywood is gonna make a sequel where Cage and Travolta trade faces again โ€“ oh, and with their kids.

From Nick Cage:

I think Face/Off is a sequel that lends itself to a lot of twists and turns and unpredictability. It's almost like if you factor in the idea of offspring and Castor and Sean having children and these children grow up, then it becomes like three-dimensional chess, and then it's not just the two, John Travolta and myself, it's four of us ping-ponging and going at different levels, and it becomes even more complex. I think there's a lot of fertile ground there. I had maybe one meeting in an office, but I haven't heard anything since, so I don't know.

"It's four of us ping-ponging and going at different levels."

Yes, four people are going to constantly swap faces (and somehow musculoskeletal structure, voices, and eyes) throughout the entire film.

Because nothing is sacred and art is dead.

The screenwriter confirmed Cage's comments:

Please make it stop, Hollywood.

I will pay you to not make these films.
