You complained and they listened! Peanuts holiday specials return to TV after public outcry
· Nov 20, 2020 · NottheBee.com

Congratulations, everyone. We did it! The Peanuts specials are back on the air.

Our nation might be divided over issues such as freedom of speech, religion, the Constitution, and whether or not we want to flush Western civilization down the drain, but if there's one thing that united us, it was the removal of Charlie Brown and his pals from public television!!

After Apple bought exclusive rights to the iconic series, they announced in October that the holiday specials would only air on their Apple TV+ streaming service. There was an immediate outpouring of shock and outrage at the move. People were quite literally more outraged by this than anything else happening in our society right now:

The author of a petition with over 200,000 signatures also said, "Our fight shall continue no matter what because these specials are iconic and no amount of corporate greed will stop us!"

We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds... we shall never surrender!

Due to the backlash and the circulation of several petitions, it seems Apple has reversed their decision and will bring back the beloved series for us all to enjoy. PBS will air "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" on Nov. 22 and "A Charlie Brown Christmas" on Dec. 13.

"Peanuts fans will have even more ways to watch Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the gang on their holiday adventures as Apple and PBS team up for special, ad free broadcasts of ‘A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving' and ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas,'" said PBS.

Many fans wondered why Apple changed their mind. Was it because their heart grew two sizes in one day??? Was it because they were moved by the nostalgic appeals from generations of Americans???

Twitter user Scoutdy said it best:

Of course, there's the fact that Apple still owns the rights to the franchise and is making specials for things such as Earth Day that will probably turn Charlie Brown into a tree-hugging Woke social justice warrior... but let's not think about that right now.
