Gordon Ramsay — one of the many British men famous for making Americans cry — is facing a cat-figurine-related nightmare: Almost 500 Japanese good-luck cat figures have been stolen from his new London restaurant, Lucky Cat 22.

Guessing they're not so lucky for Gordon?

Sure, the maneki-neko figurines aren't exactly Fabergé eggs, costing just £4.50 each. But in total, Ramsay is out £2,146.50 in tiny waving cat money in just one week.

That's over $2,700 in lost waving cats.

The 58-year-old told ITV's The Jonathan Ross Show: 'The cats are getting stolen. There were 477 stolen last week - they cost £4.50 each.'

The scene of the crime(s)

The City of London police department said that they hadn't received any reports of theft … because Gordon Ramsey obviously has far better things to do than report a theft for $2,700 and wait to see if the police even show up.

Honestly, knowing British police, they'd probably arrest Ramsey for offending someone.
