First the thread, then some thoughts:
Thoughts:
There's a lot of truth here. Kids are being exposed to the horrors and battles of the world at an earlier age. It hurts to see it.
I suppose throughout history that this has been the norm. If a child survived past the age of 5, he or she was likely to experience war, disease, abuse, and the other horrors of this world.
What's changed that in the last century is the biblical ideas of virtue, discipline, and structure found in a loving home with married parents. That was the norm, and that foundation made it possible for kids to learn how to excel in math, science, literature, and sports without being exposed to the sins and struggles of the world.
But we don't live in that world anymore. It is but a passing dream. Now, we live in a world of activism and division. If your child can carry social media in their pocket, anything you might teach them is drowned out by a sea of "influencers" chattering every moment of every day.
So how do you reverse the trend?
This man hints at it.
Unplug. Get your family away from it all. Turn off the devices. Learn to be human again. Get your hands dirty and your feet wet. Spend time in the sun. Invest in books, movies, and games that inspire and encourage.
But beyond that, remember this:
The best story wins.
You can try to fight against the hyper-sexualized, reality-bending climate cult with its trillions of dollars in Hollywood, DC, and Wall Street. You can try to tell a more compelling story than them.
But I'll bet 99% of you won't get through to your kids.
Your children don't just need time to be kids. They want to know what their purpose is, what dreams are out there, what adventures there are to be had, and why they should act as moral people in a dark world.
So if you're going to beat the stories told by dragons and demons, you're going to need to give them a story worth fighting for. A story that teaches them how to be the knights this world needs for the 21st-century hellscape. A story that teaches them how to draw a line between good and evil.
You can't craft that kind of story on your own. It's a superweapon that even the mightiest governments have trouble creating with their vast propaganda machines.
No, you need a story that's already been made: And not just any story, but the BEST story. The story that beats them all. The story that gives us a hero, a hope, and a future based in righteousness and love, not perversion and despair.
There is only one story under heaven that fits the bill. I implore you to study it and teach it to your children.
