Christians will be glad to hear that God's Word is still putting up big numbers even in 2025, as the YouVersion Bible app reportedly set a new record with 789,000 installations in a single day.
Bobby Gruenewald, founder of YouVersion and a pastor at Life Church, told The Christian Post on Thursday that the app 'saw 18.2 million people engage in the Bible and more than 798,000 installs' on Sunday.
New year, new me. I'm reading the Bible every day, right?
According to Gruenewald, it's become standard for the app to see a sharp increase in installs at the start of the New Year, with the previous record having been set on the first Sunday of 2024.
'We tend to see a seasonal uptick in Bible engagement at the beginning of the year as people start new habits and are interested in reading the Bible for the first time,' Gruenewald told CP.
One encouraging part, Gruenewald said, is that this increase is being seen across the globe, with significant spikes in installs of the app on devices in countries like Ethiopia, Egypt, and Pakistan.
Here's hoping most of these new installs avoid the fate of most New Year's resolutions and have a greater impact on the lives of users than their gym memberships.
