After placing 3rd, Nikki Haley says “Iowa made this Republican primary a two-person race” 🥴

Don't tell my editors here at Not the Bee, but sometimes I barely have to work at all — sometimes the jokes simply write themselves:

Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley took third place in the caucuses but told her supporters Monday night Iowa has made the Republican presidential contest a "two-person race."

The former South Carolina governor was alluding to her strong poll standings in New Hampshire, where Florida Gov. DeSantis trails fair behind her and former President Donald Trump. In Iowa, Haley took 19%, DeSantis had 21.2% and Trump a distant 51%.

Ambassador Haley sure is great with math!

I'll give ya the wider clip from CSPAN, where she argues that her poll numbers in other states, when combined with her third place in Iowa, actually make her second place.

You really do have to give the woman credit, she's not taking defeat lying down.

"Tonight I will be back in the great state of New Hampshire," Haley told her supporters on Monday. "And the question before Americans is now very clear: Do you want more of the same, or do you want a new generation?"

Well, good luck with that!
