None of us know our time, not even billionaires.
Sunjay Kupur was the 53-year-old chairman of Sona Comstar, an international auto components manufacturer. His father, Surinder Kapur, founded the business in 1995, naming it after his own father's jewelry business ("Sona" means "gold" in Hindi).
He was an avid polo player. According to The Mirror, while Sunjay was in the United Kingdom, a bee flew into his mouth during a polo match. Sunjay was apparently allergic to bees, so when the bee stung his mouth, his body went into anaphylactic shock that closed his airway, leading to a heart attack.
If that is indeed the case, a run-of-the-mill EpiPen could have saved his life.
That same day, Sunjay had expressed his condolences to the victims of the Air India crash. A few days prior to that, he had posted to his social media followers that our time on earth is short 👇
The Mirror notes that his ex-wife, Bollywood star Karisma Kapoor, once filed a domestic complaint against Sunjay, claiming he cared more about polo than his family.
She later filed a domestic violence plea, stating he once went off to play polo while their son was very ill.
Kapoor said: '(Sunjay) decided to carry on, leaving me behind to take care of our sick four-month-old son, just to play a Polo match with Prince William. I also realised that he had married me only because I was a famous and successful film star, which would facilitate him to be reported in the press.'
I have no idea if that's true, or anything about Sanjay's inner heart and struggles.
What I do know is that he was right: Our time is limited here.
In Psalm 144, King David says, "Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow."
James, the brother of Jesus Christ, referenced David's words when he wrote, "You do not know what tomorrow will bring - what your life will be! For you are like vapor that appears for a little while, then vanishes."
Ecclesiastes 9 says all of us share a common fate: death. But the Bible also says that we are destined, as the Apostle Peter said, "to give account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead."
Those who follow Jesus believe their hope in judgement does not come from their own good deeds, but what God did for us by sending his Son to die for our sins. And in that, we hope in the promise of resurrection after death.

Whether you are rich or poor, allergic to bees or not, remember that you too are destined to die and give an account.
And it could happen today.
Then [Jesus] told them a parable: 'A rich man's land was very productive. He thought to himself, "What should I do, since I don't have anywhere to store my crops?"
"I will do this," he said. "I'll tear down my barns and build bigger ones and store all my grain and my goods there. Then I'll say to myself, 'You have many goods stored up for many years. Take it easy; eat, drink, and enjoy yourself."'
'But God said to him, "You fool! This very night your life is demanded of you. And the things you have prepared — whose will they be?"
'That's how it is with the one who stores up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.'
