Oklahoma issued a warning about a "trans" wrestler because of a trans athlete ban. But I thought wrestling was fake!

Now look, I'm all for keeping men dressed like ladies out of women's sports for the sake of fairness and sanity. But we need to clarify some issues before our reaction gets out of hand.

For example, the Oklahoma State Athletic Commission is already out there issuing warnings over a dude wrestling a woman in the ring at an All Elite Wrestling Event in Oklahoma City. The match in question featured trans wrestler Nyla Rose vs. Alejandra The Lion (a real woman).

And the warning was issued because of the state's ban on trans athletes participating in women's sports.

There's just one major problem.

Pro-wrestling is not a sport!

It's entertainment.

And dudes have been dressing up like ladies in entertainment for millennium.

In the not so distant past, it made for a great gag, like agent Charlie Watkins in the old Get Smart series.

[Shed nostalgic tear here.]

The real issue is that there are people in power who want us to not see this all as a joke. They want us to believe that Charlie Watkins isn't in disguise at all. He really is a woman.

They want us to think that Nyla Rose is really a woman wrestler and not a dude in disguise named Brandon Degroat.

And you'd have to be crazy to accept that as a fact.

There's no way that guy should be out fighting women. He's humongous. If this were boxing or the MMA, I'd be cheering in the stands for the Oklahoma commission.

But this was pro-wrestling.

I could wax on forever trying to prove my point, but instead I'll show you what I mean. Just watch this championship match with Nyla Rose and Riho from 2020.

If it hadn't been a scripted fight, that monster would broken every bone in that little lady's body, maybe killed her.

And watching Degroat roll around on the floor like he's tired and injured is downright funny. He's a decent actor and a stuntman. He was even in a few films before he scored the part of a lady wrestler for the AEW.

Applying a law enforcing fairness in women's sports to an actor employed by a pro-wrestling company is about as ridiculous as believing the real life Scarlet Johansen would have won that fight against the security guards in Iron Man 2.

Let's not let people in power try to force us to believe wrestling is real too.

And to the Oklahoma State Athletic Commission I say,
