Yes, this is a real headline from The New York Times.

The article suggests that Trump's crackdown on immigration has pulled resources from other investigations like drugs and guns, and they get that idea because internal documents show there have been fewer criminal prosecutions of those types of crimes recently.

But you're not supposed to notice the obvious correlation here that having 500 thousand fewer criminal aliens in the country is bound to reduce the activities criminal aliens are known for: namely drugs and guns.

Abigail Jackson, a White House spokeswoman, characterized the data as a sign of success, saying that H.S.I. had made more criminal arrests than in any previous fiscal year. Ms. Jackson also said The Times was ‘cherry-picking' statistics from the report.

‘The Trump administration is making America safer than ever before,' she said.

Tricia McLaughlin, a Department of Homeland Security spokeswoman, said,

The Times was 'peddling a false narrative.' She said the report showed that agents had seized more narcotics than the previous year.

On another note, the number of pedophiles and human traffickers arrested in domestic stings has increased as easy access to foreign minors has decreased.

But The New York Times wants you to know that even that is bad news because 20% fewer victims were helped in these stings.

Instead of finding young girls to rape, thousands of creeps around the country are finding federal agents waiting for them instead. The NYT spins that into a bad thing, blaming Trump for the lower number of victims.

For all his flaws, this is exactly why I voted for Trump.
