To everyone who watched Joe Biden's State of the Union performance, congratulations for surviving the collection of lies, coughs, and slurred nonsense that made up his speech.
But while most of the attention is going towards debunking the seemingly endless list of falsehoods presented to the American people as fact — examples include outrageous claims regarding the strength of Biden's economic agenda, the threat posed to Europe by Putin's Russia, and the notion that Republicans are to blame for the crisis at the border — there was one moment that stood out to me as a metaphor for Joe Biden and the entire modern Democratic Party.
And I'm not talking about the U.S. jobless rate hitting the highest level in two years moments after Joe Biden boasted about record employment.
No, I'm talking about the moment a Gold Star father was arrested for daring to interrupt Joe Biden's absurd claim that America is safer under his leadership.
Steve Nikoui, the father of a U.S. Marine who was killed during Biden's disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021, was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor for shouting "Abbey Gate" — where his son and 12 other U.S. service-members were murdered by the Taliban in Kabul.
Not only is it utterly outrageous that a Gold Star parent was arrested and charged for an understandable (and, yes, valid) emotional outburst, it gets worse.
It gets worse when we understand that Biden was late to the State of the Union because of hoards of Palestinian activists blocking roads ... again ... without consequences. It gets worse when Joe Biden opened the speech by blithering on about January 6, saying that "political violence has absolutely no place in America" while his own Vice President bailed out BLM rioters. And it gets worse when we notice that Joe Biden ends every speech with "may God protect our troops."
Perhaps not leaving them to die in Afghanistan for no reason whatsoever would make God's job a little easier?
Thursday night proved that you can riot in the streets screaming "Black Lives Matter," or shut down the entire city with impunity if you're waving a Palestinian flag, but if you're a grieving father who yells the wrong words at the president, you'll be arrested.
This is Joe Biden's America.
