Tom Brady has never been one who is used to being on the losing end of anything, but the collectible card shop he owns in New York City was ripped off to the tune of nearly $10,000 in baseball and Pokémon cards.

As reported by the Daily Mail:

TMZ Sports claims the incident occurred shortly before noon on Monday October 20 at CardVault - the high-end trading store Brady acquired a 50 percent stake in back in February.

The suspect is alleged to have attempted to purchase merchandise worth $9,710, only for the payment to decline.

He is then accused of tricking an employee on the cash register into believing he had paid, before walking straight out of the store with the goods.

The incident occurred only weeks after the grand opening, for which Brady was present.

The Card Vault also has locations in other parts of the country, including Chicago, Boston, and Dallas.

No word on whether those locations also have really, really gullible cashiers.
