So this is really cool. These fellas discovered the oldest surviving pair of Levi jeans in an abandoned mine. The jeans were among 8 pairs they discovered which date back to 1879 and were found in an Arizona goldmine somewhere between Yuma and Quartzite.

Jeans from this era have fetched $50,000 a pair. And these boys found 8 in just this one mine! From the video description:

We found 8 pair of jeans from the 1800s in an abandoned mine in Arizona at Castle Dome Mine down an old shaft unexplored since the 1800s. The jeans were kept by the mine owner. They are supposed to be put on display at the museum. 3 pair were Levis Strauss the rest were Stonghold, Triumph and Pacifico. There are estimated to be about 100 pair of 1800 Levis in the world. They are prized by collectors especially in Japan. Brit Eaton went back to try to find more and examined the jeans, he really knows old denim!

They can date the jeans by features like the single back pocket and crotch rivets ("crotch rivets" would be a cool name for a band, come to think of it). Levi later removed those rivets from the design for very... practical reasons.
