A Canadian hotel made this American sign a waiver because he ordered his burger medium-done 🤦‍♂️

I almost can't believe this is a true story.

If you don't want your burger burnt to a crisp in Canada, you've gotta sign a waiver.

This red-blooded American said he lost his appetite after ordering a burger at a Hilton hotel in Toronto and they made him sign a waiver because he wasn't willing to get the burger well-done.

"I was flabbergasted," the visitor said in a post to Reddit that has since gone viral on the platform's Toronto page and garnered more than 500 comments...

"I already had my first bite but stopped eating and did not sign the waiver. I was shocked to be honest with you," they said in an interview.

They waited until he started eating to bring out the waiver? Doesn't that undo the entire purpose of the waiver at that point??

I don't know what's more ridiculous, that you have to sign something if you want to eat a burger properly or that Hilton had to hire a lawyer to write up a hamburger form.

I've seen menus with the little asterisk about "raw or undercooked food" but bringing lawyers into it?

I knew Canada was gone, I just didn't know how far gone.

While the hotel chain doesn't typically hand these waivers out, a Hilton spokesperson told CTV News Toronto that the chain adheres to all of Ontario's food safety laws.

"When guests request a cooking temperature for meat that is below the minimum required, our hotel provides a waiver as an additional food safety measure with language consistent with what you might see printed at the bottom of restaurant menus," a statement read.

Freaking Canadians out here ruining the most American thing in the world, the hamburger.

It might even be a justification for invasion. Any Canadians want to be "liberated"? We've got guns, free speech, and freedom to choose how you cook your meat!
