This is not good way to go:
According to CBS, this man and his wife live in an elevated home with a shed underneath. The man was attacked by an alligator while wading through four feet of water and his wife managed to help him get away up the steps.
Since the wounds were severe and there was no cell service, she got into a canoe and paddled for higher ground about a mile away to get help.
When she returned, her husband's body was gone. Which basically means, yeah, the gator returned for him and ... yeah.
St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Captain Lance Vitter told WWL deputies saw blood at the scene, adding that deputies searched about six hours in knee-deep water with boats and high-water vehicles but couldn't find him.
CBS News correspondent David Begnaud reports the alligator tore off one of the man's arms.
What a tragic story. This dude definitely got eaten. Please don't go wading through alligator-infested waters during a hurricane.
