A note to criminals in South Carolina: the Palmetto State is bringing back firing squads

South Carolina is reinstating both the firing squad and the electric chair for the most violent of criminals:

The new bill allows such methods to be used as a way of addressing the shortage of lethal injection drugs that has stalled state executions for a decade.

Felons will have up until 14 days before their execution date to choose between the chair and a firing squad if such drugs are not available.

"The S. 200 bill, passed by the state senate in early March, was approved Wednesday by a House vote of 66-43, according to the Associated Press. The legislation now heads to Republican South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster's desk for a signature."

McMaster says he plans to sign the bill as soon as it reaches his desk:

If criminals want to destroy and murder innocent people in the most heinous ways imaginable, they might want to think twice about doing it in South Carolina.
