Matt Walsh had the perfect response to this performative "land acknowledgement" at the Oscars last night

Okay, let's be honest, no one here watched the Oscars last night. You and I honestly don't care.

But Hollywood loves to gather to celebrate its own glory and condemn the country that made it a success.

And there's no better picture of that than this meaningless land acknowledgement to start the ceremonies. 👇

We gather to celebrate the Oscars on the ancestral lands of the Tongva, Tataviam, and Chumash peoples, the traditional caretakers of this water and land ...

"So let's give out these awards for the most sexually depraved and culturally subversive movies in history!"

(To honor the natives, of course.)

That was, ironically, the whitest thing I've ever seen.

And Matt Walsh, ever the fair minded individual, gave the perfect rebuttal to this act of false piety.

No! Matt! Don't bring up basic facts and logic! This is an emotions only zone in Hollywood!

The tribes that lived in America before Europeans were not the "traditional caretakers" of the land. They used the land to conquer and expand, just like every other civilization. Some tribes were more peaceful than others. Many were brutally violent. Welcome to humanity.

But most of these Hollywood types understand history and human nature through the lens of Disney's Pocahontas.

Consider this Walsh's revenge for his documentary being snubbed by the awards show.
