The comment section had THOUGHTS about Joy Reid's take on "Lord of the Rings" and American politics

I did not have this on my 2025 Bingo card:

Yes, in this Year of our Lord 2025, former MSNBC host Joy Reid decided to have the worst take ever on JRR Tolkien's masterpiece.

This is impressive, considering Amazon Studios gave us loving orc wives and pudgy orc babies just last year!

If you need a reminder, here's the quote that Joy is referencing. It's not found in the books, only in Peter Jackson's film adaptation of "The Fellowship of the Rings."

Boromir is the son of the steward of Gondor, charged with maintaining the kingdom in the absence of the king. He is talking to Aragorn, the heir to the throne.

And if Joy Reid missed it, Aragorn's ascension to the the throne is the title of the third book.

Might not be the best quote to apply to American politics, Joy!

It takes a lot for a leftist to get a lot of negative comments on Bluesky, but Joy managed to accomplish that too.

Truly a historic post!

"I am Aragorn son of Arathorn, and am called Elessar, the Elfstone, Dúnadan, the heir of Isildur Elendil's son of Gondor."

While we're here though, Joy, I should mention that Aragorn is one of three Christ symbols in LOTR.

Aragorn, the healing king who restores Middle Earth, is a picture of Jesus Christ coming to wage a final war against Satan and the corrupt nations of the world, save his people, and rule forever in a New Jerusalem.

Tolkien even includes a tree of life!

Not to mention that Aragorn, once restoring the kingdom and taking the throne, is able to wed the woman he has waited decades for, a parallel to the biblical imagery of Christ's bride, the Church and the city of God.

I'm not sure Joy could be more politically or theologically wrong.

Long live the King!
