At last! After decades upon decades of disrespect, United Airlines is finally leading the way and tipping the hat to the upper classes of the sky:
United Airlines will change its boarding order next week by letting economy-class passengers who have selected window seats to board before those with middle and aisle seats. …
The new boarding process will be implemented on all domestic flights and some international flights.
All of us window-seaters right now like:
I mean, look, we're not trying to toot our own horn here. We window-seaters don't think we're "better" than the rest of you, obviously. I mean, not really. Okay sort of, but not in a way that really matters.
But it's just nice to be acknowledged, right? I mean the window seat is obviously the superior airplane seat. It follows that the person sitting in it is, in some way, a superior passenger. Right? So this is pleasant to see.
I mean, it's not like they're doing this for any other reason. What, to save time? Give me a break:
The company said the change could shave two minutes off the boarding process.
Two minutes! Yeah just enough time for you to down another eight ounces of ginger ale and a packet of peanuts. Two minutes is nothing!
This is obviously about recognizing the window-seaters for the great luminaries and kings of the sky that we are.
Thank you, United! Hope everyone else follows suit!
