Despite making slavery illegal at its inception in 1850, way back in 2023 California's legislature decided to virtue-signal their commitment to DEI by commissioning a slavery reparations task force.

Their job was to come up with a monetary amount that would make African-Americans stop complaining about how all their modern-day problems came from chattel slavery ... centuries ago.

The task force made it clear there wasn't enough money on Earth to make the complaining end — literally. 👇

There also wasn't enough money on Earth, however, to stop the California Assembly from virtue signaling, so now they've passed a law creating an office of slave reparations, which Gavin Newsom signed.

SB 518 creates the Bureau for Descendants of American Slavery, the first ever permanent state agency dedicated to advancing reparative initiatives. The Bureau is charged with, among other things, confirming descendancy, public education and outreach, and reparative program coordination.

The Bureau won't be issuing any sort of reparations.

All the law does is give the new department the authority to round up all the personal, genealogical, and genetic information of black people living in the state and store all their data in interoperable databases, so they can be easily found and identified by the government as needed.

To be fair, whether Californians are for or against slave reparations is a moot point since they spent all their money on illegal aliens over the past couple of years.

And, in an ironic twist only Democrats can't seem to see, most of those illegal aliens are pretty much working as slaves, either to the cartels or to businesses that don't want to pay Americans real wages.

Californian Senator Adam Schiff said,

It's estimated that half of California's farmer workforce is undocumented.

Half!

So, instead of going bankrupt with slave reparations for descendants of slaves in the 1800s, California is going bankrupt keeping its modern system of slavery afloat.
