Amazon decided to spend billions to purchase the greatest beloved saga of the last century - one that was explicitly written as a mythology for the British people that folded pagan myths from Atlantis to Mount Olympus to Norway into the biblical canon - and they decided to make it into another generic fantasy-romance-novel show (make no mistake, subverting the Christian mythos is the point).

If you know about the lore, you will know that Elrond is a half elf who was born many hundreds of years after Galadriel was already in the world. Galadriel was actually married to her husband Celeborn for hundreds of years by this point.

Elrond then went on to marry Celebrían, the daughter of Celeborn and Galadriel.

Celebrían then gave birth to Arwen, who decides to lay aside her elvish immortality to marry Aragorn.

Go make your own trashy show about elves, Amazon. Leave the good professor alone and cast this show into the fire.
