It appears that Jeff Bezos has taken a sudden interest in ballot integrity.
"The best approach to a valid, fair and successful election is one that is conducted manually, in-person, making it easy for associates to verify and cast their vote in close proximity to their workplace."
Where have I heard that before?
That's right, I remember now.
"Mail-In Ballots will lead to massive electoral fraud and a rigged 2020 Election."
— President Trump, in a tweet, July 2, 2020
Jeff Bezos' Washington Post was quick to pounce on this then obvious falsehood.
More than 100 times this year, President Trump has peddled false claims or imaginary threats about voting by mail.
The president may believe this disinformation campaign helps his chances of being reelected. But he is sowing confusion as states prepare for the Nov. 3 general election and is falsely accusing state officials of trying to rig the outcome.
A mountain of evidence shows that mail voting has been almost entirely free of fraud through the decades, but Trump insists that it's a recipe for disaster.
Oh, my!
I can't believe Trump was allowed to peddle such "false claims," "imaginary threats," "disinformation," and "confusion" despite a "mountain of evidence!"
They should ban him from Twitter for life!
Again, just like they did with impeachment.
What did the wholly non-partisan fact checkers at Jeff Bezos' Washington Post who are not at all influenced by the man who pays them say about this?
They tackled it head on, of course, like real journalists do.
That's right, they highlighted the much more important pandemic angle (which reminds me, wear a mask) and not so much the mail-in fraud thing which is not at all relevant to anything really.
In fact, the story includes not a single mention of the issues regarding the integrity of mail-in ballots raised by Amazon and the words, "valid," "fair," and "verify" are nowhere to be found.
Before you start screaming about hypocrisy, remember we're not just talking about electing the leader of the free world here, we're talking about a union election in Bessemer Alabama!
What does electing a President have to do with the integrity of Prime two-day delivery, anyway?
So remember, mail-in voting is absolutely secure and totally free from any potential fraud whatsoever, as long as it doesn't affect Jeff Bezos' interests.
See, life is pretty simple after all!
