Pretty surprising poll results for June, which, in case you've somehow forgotten, is Gay Pride Month:
Americans' views about the morality of a number of behaviors and practices are largely stable compared with a year ago. However, significantly fewer say same-sex relations are morally acceptable, and more say the death penalty is.
Here's what Americans found morally acceptable, by percentage, compared to a year ago.
We could do worse! Really, the sharp drop in support for same-sex relations is rather astonishing. Of all the items polled in this survey, that one experienced the largest decline.
That sharp drop, Gallup said, was mostly due to a decline in support from Republicans, though Democrats also registered a decrease (Independents stayed mostly the same).
Support for gay relationships still remains at a record-high, though this is arguably the largest drop in favorability in the 20 years that Gallup has been polling on the question.
