A circus elephant got loose in Montana yesterday and it was quite a sight

For some reason I just love when animals get loose in cities. Especially when it's a giant animal such as this circus elephant that got loose in Butte, Montana, on Tuesday.

Not sure where our lady Viola was headed. She stormed down Butte's Harrison Avenue around lunchtime, passing up a gas station, a casino, and a few shops, and then she ended up in a residential area.

It turns out the elephant, affectionately known as Viola, was in town with the Jordan World Circus.

Her handlers had been giving her a bath outside the Civic Center when a car backfired and spooked her, the venue's manager Bill Melvin told the Daily Montanan.

She took off, but only made it a few hundred yards before she stopped to munch on some grass in a neighbor's yard. The chase lasted about 10 minutes.

Fortunately, no one was injured and the 58-year-old elephant was returned to her circus family.

Viola knocked down an old fence during her rampage, but other than that no damage was done.

Honestly though, can you imagine seeing this on your way to lunch or your afternoon appointment?

Flippin' elephant just casually strolling the streets like it's no big deal.
