Congresswoman and Squad leader Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has taken to Twitter to highlight her utter inability to understand very basic things about US politics and immigration policy.

The venerated representative from the Bronx tweeted this out trying to call Mitt Romney, of all people on the right, "racist" for welcoming refugees from Ukraine.

See, if you welcome one group of people entering the US and not another then you are racist.

Duh. Except AOC seems to have forgotten a couple of very important factors.

First off, AOC might not know this, but there's a literal war happening in Ukraine.

Yeah, Russia invaded and Ukrainians are literally fleeing for their lives. So, yeah, there's a good reason to allow Ukrainians in.

Immigrants from South and Central America, they may live in terrible places, but I am not aware of any major wars taking place in those countries causing them to flood into the United States.

So, maybe, just maybe, the position of Republicans isn't racist. It's simply reality-based.
