In news that spells disaster for Hamas and Jake Shields, we have more evidence that Jews were in Israel thousands of years ago, long before Islam existed.

Oops.

The Israeli Antiquities Authority, who are sort of like a bunch of Indiana Joneses who don't work on Saturdays, recently unearthed some mind-blowing relics from Zanoah, where the Israelites finally landed after Moses led them on an awkward 40-year detour through the desert.

(Men hate asking for directions, am I right?)

Among items dating back over 3,200 years, they even found a broken jar handle with the name of a king mentioned in the Old Testament.

These modern-day treasure hunters excavated the area back in 2019, and spilled the archaeological tea this March. They uncovered massive retaining walls for ancient farming terraces, and also found pottery stamped with "of the King," a shout-out to King Hezekiah, who reigned in Judah in 701 B.C. and is known for purifying and repairing Solomon's Temple.

Other finds included bowls, jugs, a potential lantern, and various metal objects, like bronze jewelry and iron tools. These artifacts hint that while some stuff washed down the slopes over time, most of the finds relate to farming activities on the hill.

The sheer number of these discoveries underscores the site's historical importance โ€” including more evidence of a Jewish presence in Israel for thousands of years.
