This is very important and not something that any parent should ignore:
"They proceed to tell me that they had a psychiatrist come to the school and give my kid antidepressants. He's been on them for several months and I had no knowledge.
I knew nothing about it. Come to find out, it's 100 per cent legal. They can do whatever they want with our kids in Washington State within the school program."
This man is indeed correct—Washington state law allows for minors to obtain their own medication in cases like this. In fact, multiple states do.
Is yours one of them? Call your state legislator and find out. Check with state medical departments.
Most importantly, if your child is in public or private school, call them and ask about their policies, stat.
