Army sends letter to troops who were discharged for refusing the vax, says they can correct the discharge and come back to the military

This CNN headline is from just over six weeks ago.

A very negative outlook for our military to say the least.

The military mandated the vaccine … for only 15 months from August 2021 through January 2023, when it was rescinded by law as part of the National Defense Authorization Act. It marked perhaps the first time in US military history that a vaccine requirement was reversed.

But since the repeal, only 19 soldiers have rejoined the Army, while 12 have returned to the Marines, according to service spokespeople. The numbers are even smaller for the Air Force and Navy, where only one and two have rejoined, respectively, the services said.

This is what happens when you bring politics disguised as sCiEnCe into the military. And y'all wonder why recruitment is so low.

Fast forward to today, with recruitment still showing no signs of recovery, and we have this from the Army.

Dear former service member,

We write to notify you of new Army guidance regarding the correction of military records for former members of the Army following rescission of the COVID-19 vaccination requirement. As a result of the rescission of all current COVID-19 vaccination requirements, former Soldiers who were involuntarily separated for refusal to receive the COVID-19 vaccination may request a correction of their military records from either or both the Army Discharge Review Board (ADRB) or the Army Board for Correction of Military Records (ABCMR).

Individuals may request a correction to military personnel records, including records regarding the characterization of discharge, by submitting a request to the ADRB or the ABCMR online at https://actsonline.army.mil/ or by mailing a DD Form 293, Application for the Review of Discharge or Dismissal from the Armed Forces of the United States …

Individuals who desire to apply to return to service should contact their local Army, US Army Reserve (USAR) or Army National Guard (ARNG) for more information.

Essentially, "we messed up, we're sorry, and maybe if you come back we'll make it right for you."

I'm sorry, but I think that ship has sailed. With your dog-people and your newfound woke ideology, I don't think it's just the vax mandates that are keeping these soldiers away. You dishonored them with these discharges and now you want to take it back.

Oh, and on the woke stuff, note what this retired Army sergeant shared on X. The Biden administration is still opposed to tuition forgiveness for cadets at West Point and other military academies, but wants to fund "Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion" programs.

Not sure how this is going to work out for ya.
