Not too long ago in an Ohio neighborhood not too far away, artist Dave from Arrowhead Vintage & Goods decided to begin transforming old, discarded paintings into scenes of surreal sci-fi and fantasy wonder.
Featured prominently among his pieces are quite a few Star Wars scenes that create a bizarre mashup between the iconic series and mid-20th century American art:
Here, a serene beach scene is transformed into a standoff between R2D2 and Imperial Walkers (technically, they are First Order AT-ATs, but we don't speak of the sequels here).
In this next scene, a frozen country stream has become the setting for an aerial dogfight:
And of course, don't forget this reminder of what happens when you duck hunt on the Emperor's lands:
In addition to his Star Wars pieces, Dave adds a variety of fictional characters and humorous modern touches to other paintings in his "altered art" category:
I never thought I'd ever be excited about the artwork my grandparents generation had on their walls, but throw in a few lightsabers and a Star Destroyer here and there, and now we're talking!
