Gas prices continue to skyrocket, so what does Biden do? Suspends drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, that's what!

Yes, really:

WASHINGTON — The Biden administration on Tuesday suspended oil drilling leases in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, unspooling a signature achievement of the Trump presidency and delivering on a promise by President Biden to protect the fragile Alaskan tundra from fossil fuel extraction.

The decision sets up a process that could halt drilling in one of the largest tracts of untouched wilderness in the United States, home to migrating waterfowl, caribou and polar bears. But it also lies over as much as 11 billion barrels of oil and Democrats and Republicans have fought over whether to allow drilling there for more than four decades.

A formal order from Interior Secretary Deb Haaland paused the leases until her agency has completed an environmental analysis of their impact and a legal review of the Trump administration's decision to grant them.

That's right folks -- as Biden shuts down U.S. pipelines while clearing the way for Russian pipelines to open, chuckling as our gas prices skyrocket, he's decided to go a step further. He just suspended drilling leases in one of the largest tracts of wilderness in the United States so as to not disturb migrating birds and caribou, for goodness sake.

Picture Xi Jinping and Putin reading this news and getting themselves a hearty chuckle.

How does this help America at all? How does it do anything but throw another stick in our spokes?

Does President Biden actually want America to fail? Seems harsh I know, but sometimes it's all too easy to make the case that he does.

In any event, when you're filling up your tank with $7-a-gallon gas, you can make yourself feel better by knowing that birdies in Alaska aren't being inconvenienced by having to re-route their migration path.
