Many on the Left and Right have been celebrating the bravery of Zelenskyy and the Ukrainian people as they have fought back against the Russian invasion these last weeks.
As a matter of fact, so many Ukrainians are proud to fight for their homeland that Ukraine is turning away some volunteers.
And while the crowd that's been telling you to stay home and stay safe for two years celebrates the brave Ukrainians protecting their homeland polling from Quinnipiac shows that the same people may not have such strong feelings towards their own homeland.
As the world witnesses what is happening to Ukraine, Americans were asked what they would do if they were in the same position as Ukrainians are now: stay and fight or leave the country? A majority (55 percent) say they would stay and fight, while 38 percent say they would leave the country. Republicans say 68 - 25 percent and independents say 57 - 36 percent they would stay and fight, while Democrats say 52 - 40 percent they would leave the country.
In a result that surprises no one, most Republicans and independents say they would stay and defend the United States if there was some sort of invasion. However, Democrats went the other way.
Well, how about that? The party that the Right constantly accuses of lacking patriotism actually agrees that, if push came to shove, they'd head for the hills instead of defending their country.
What a surprise!!
And this is just a poll. When asked, 52% of Dems say they'd run. But how many more would actually run in the face of danger?
But I'm sure they'd change their Facebook profile picture to an American flag or something like that โ you know, to show solidarity.
